Hello, I have been running into an issue with the “Edit Saved NPCs” section.
Currently, I only have fifteen (15) generated NPCs, and whenever I try to update the information about them, such as ‘Campaign’, ‘Area’, and ‘Name’ and hit “Update Campaign Info” it will appear to take with the NPCs I have updated being re-sorted with the new information. But when I leave the page and come back the information is erased as if I never entered it.
Just to clarify I only have one instance of this website open, cookies are enabled for this website, I am only doing one NPC at a time filling in all three sections each time, and I am a paid member.
One final thing to note is that it sometimes works but I am not sure as to what I am doing differently that is causing it to work. nine (9) of the fifteen (15) NPCs retain their information, while the others will not take.
Any ideas as to why this might be happening?
I’ve run into this issue on Internet Explorer on Windows 7 and Firefox on Ubuntu 12.04 (and 14.04).
Hi gamedrummer, Make sure you are not using special characters when choosing the names and keep away from apostrophes and quotation marks. If you are still getting problems give me some examples and I’ll have a play around. If I can reproduce the problem I can fix it.
I am still intermittently having problems using the Pathfinder RPG NPC generator. It logs me out of my paid membership. Using the D&D 3.5 generator does not log me out. This does not happen every day I use the tool but quite often. Any suggestions?
Hi Dracosuldi, it sounds as if your cookies are being deleted. The generators pass the Login id via cookies. Make sure dinglesgames.com is listed in your save cookies. http://www.dinglesgames.com/how-to-guide/having-trouble-accessing-monster-create/
Hi,
Lately when I log on I have to log on 2x, once at Dingle site then again at the WordPress site. I then have to choose to go to the Dingle site from the WordPress site. It’s just sort of annoying. Any idea why the redundant log on protocol?
Love your site. Sadly my group is moving to 5e so after this campaign I am not sure how much I will be coming back.
Best regards
Electron281
Hi electron281, Sorry no idea, what browser are you using? It’s working Ok for me.
Could you add monsters from Monsters Manual 2.
Hi alex1g, I can only add monsters in the monster manual for D&D 3.5 as this was the only one covered in the SRD. All the other books are covered by WOTC copyright.
Hi I have the lifetime membership but its not letting me create past level 5 NPCs
Hi azx101 you have another logon id zotduncanm which has the lifetime membership attached. Ive now added the membership yo this login as well.
What’s the best way to make a familiar for my lich? Imp and Quasit don’t come up in the monster creator.
Imp is under “Devil, Imp” and Quasit is “Demon, Quasit”
How do I access a stat block for a monster I created? All I can see is options to create, edit, and delete them.
Hi David, The monster you created will appear in your generator monster list.
LOL, that would be why. I knew that too. Brain fart, excuse me while I go hide in a corner to be with my shame.
No problem fcook253 I had to double check
I’m having some issues with the Pathfinder NPC generator not calculating in the masterwork bonus for the armor. It calculates fine for the weapons, just won’t for the armor for some reason.
Hi fcook253
Masterwork armor only changes the armor check penalty on skills by 1. It does not provide an armor bonus.
Yes, i’m making a nymph. So i choose druid in special attacks and type the spell level only or the level and name in the value section. Then I do that for all her daily spells individually?
If you want to change the spells in the generator type Druid in the special attacks and the Caster level in the in the value section. If you want to list the spells select spell-like abbilities (WIS) 1st and then type the 1st level spells if the value section, repeat for all spell levels. This will calculate the save for each spell (WIS being the prime stat for a druid).
